It was closer than expected in this category between Moore and Sam Liokumovich of Deerfield High School. Liokumovich was untouchable in the Shot Put winning the 3A State title in the event and then finishing third in the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Moore was close to state records in running 10.36 for 100-meters and 20.89 for 200-meters during the season. A hamstring injury slowed Moore down right before the state meet but he was still able to defend his state championships for both events. His 200 Meter Dash race will go down as one of the most memorable as his hamstring acted up in the final 50-meters. He was still able to cross the line ahead of the rest of the field.
