By Michael Newman
When you finish third in your first high school cross-country race and then go undefeated the next two years in Illinois, it is not hard to choose anyone besides Glenbard West’s Katelynne Hart. The sophomore has won four state championships in her brief high school career including her fourth this past November at Detweiller Park. She was undefeated in her eight races this fall including running under 17-minutes for each of the races. Her accomplishments were even more astonishing during the post-season…but we will talk about those in an upcoming article. Enyaeva Michelin of Evanston Township and Sarah Schmitt of Naperville North were other runners that were also considered. Congratulations to Katelynne Hart of Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn as the 2017 ILXCTF.com 3A Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Year. More news |
