Anna Sophia Keller of Effingham St. Anthony High School has made things look easy on the cross-country course in the fall and on the track during the spring during her high-school career winning nine state championships. Her most difficult decision would be what college she would attend beginning in the fall of 2017. Before her first race of the track season at the Southern Illinois University High School Invitational on Friday and careful thought and careful deliberation, Keller made the verbal commitment to attend the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana according to her father Chuck Keller. “We were so thankful to have so many college coaches come to visit and show interest in our daughter,” the elder Keller said. “We made visits to schools. All in all, he decision was made by Anna Sophia. She did not tell us which schools she was interested to until the time she made her decision.” Chuck Keller also said that the decision came down to Notre Dame University and another school which the family did not want to disclose publicly. Anna Sophia Keller is one of the most decorated prep athletes to ever run in Illinois. She won the 1A state championship at the IHSA State Cross Country Meet all four years of high-school between 2013 to 2016. Keller also has won state championships during the track & field season three times in the 1600 Meter Run and two times in the 3200 Meter Run entering her senior season. She also earned All-American honors last December finishing 15th at the Nike Cross National Championships in Portland, Oregon.
