Serena Bolden of Springfield Southeast High School was also considered. Bolden won four individual titles at the 2019 IHSA 2A Girls State Track & Field Championships. Hart became the first female athlete to win the three distance events at the IHSA State Track & Field Championships at the same meet running five distance races in a period of 24 hours.
