Dunlap stands alone on top of Girls rankings By Michael Newman
One of the reasons why Dunlap won the 2A state championship in such a convincing manner was their domination in the relay events in which they captured all four of the 2A state relay championships. That helped the Eagles in these rankings as they became the first 2A Girls school to stand on top of the overall rankings. Dunlap, who finished second in 2016, scored 177 points to finish first. They were the only school that scored more than 150 points. Downers Grove North scored 142 points to finish second ahead of O’Fallon (139 points), East St. Louis-Senior (135 points), and Hinsdale Central (121 points). Three Southwest Conference schools finished among the first six teams. The West Suburban Conference-Silver Division had the most schools among the top 20 with five teams. Cahokia and Springfield Lanphier along with Dunlap were the 1A/2A schools that finished among the first 20. The ILXCTF.com (formally the DyeStat Illinois) Relay Rankings are based off the DyeStat TFX leaderboards (as of May 27, 2017) for the four relays that are contested at the IHSA State Meet. In the All Class, 3A, 2A, and 1A categories, the top 50 quartets are ranked with 50 points given to the fastest school down to 1 point for the 50th fastest. 2017 Girls Overall
